Meet canzadie

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

I wholeheartedly believe in tailoring therapy to fit the individual’s needs. I will utilize many different therapeutic modalities, interventions and strategies and am not afraid to mix things up as needed to achieve the best possible outcome for my clients. I am passionate about learning new techniques and have special interest in career counseling, hoarding disorder and victims of narcissistic personality disorder.

I received my masters degree from Upper Iowa University and my internship was at MercyOne Horizons substance abuse and mental health center. I believe this has given me an added perspective into the struggle that dual diagnosis clients and their families face on a daily basis. I spent a few years working in community mental health serving clients with schizophrenia, DID, personality disorders, eating disorders, grief and loss, anxiety, depression and numerous other issues.

I have lived in Iowa most of my life and am a wife and mother of a large blended family. I understand the issues that new step parents face and can offer added support during the process of joining two established families together. I spent my childhood on a farm and enjoy the outdoors, fur babies of all types, camping, hiking and fishing. When I am not outside I spend my time on playing video games with my children, working on home improvement projects with my husband and working with animal rescue and rehabilitation fostering as needed.

The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.”
